I am who I am because of my cracks, and yet I am moving on from a simple “well, I learned” response to my past.
We must integrate the reminders “memento mori” and “memento vivere” in order for us to stay present in “ordinary time.”
What I’ve hoped for and will continue to hope for this year are gifts to myself that are more far important than things.
I wrote this article back when I was on leave from school. Though my situation has changed, the core message is the same: I am enough. Even if I can do nothing, I am enough.
